Bora Kim, a native of Korea, earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Church Music and a Master of Music in Church Music with a concentration in Voice Performance from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth as a student of Dr. Angela Cofer and Mr. Ronald Montgomery. She also has a Bachelor of Music in voice performance from Chongshin University in Seoul, where she was the recipient of numerous Academic awards. In 2018 she received the James McKinney Award for Outstanding Performer at Southwestern, the same year she earned First Place at the National Association of Teachers of Singing State Voice Competition in Texas. While she was in the SWBTS, she had being named to the Dean's List many times; and she also taught elective voice lessons and Voice Master Class at the SWBTS as an adjunct professor. She has been instructing undergraduate and graduate voice majors, musical theater majors, voice concentration, and talented high-school and adult learners. She currently teaches voice in Korea and the DFW area via zoom. Many of her voice students are the winners of the Fort Worth Voice Solo Competition and recipients of RCM Center Certificates of Excellence.
