When can I begin lessons?

The Fort Worth Conservatory of Music and Fine Arts offers lessons on a semester basis starting in August, January, and May although weekly private lessons can begin at any time and the tuition will be prorated. Registration is now open for the fall semester!

 
 

 
 

Where is the school?

The Conservatory is conveniently located in the Historic Near Southside of southwest Fort Worth about one mile from I-35 and just 2 miles east of TCU.

 
 

 
 

What are the facilities like?

The Conservatory is housed in a newly-renovated building with spacious studios and a recital space that provides the perfect venue for excellence. Windowed studio doors and a private parking lot ensure a safe student environment.

 
 

 
 

Who will the teachers be?

Teachers are selected by the Director for excellence and experience in teaching and their ability to create a loving and encouraging environment for the student. All instructors have successfully completed a background check and Ministry Safe course.

 
 

 
 

Can I enroll if I’ve never had any musical training?

Yes! We take students of all levels of experience - even if you’re a complete beginner.

How do I get an instrument?

It is the responsibility of the student to secure their own instrument. A keyboard with weighted keys is acceptable for the first year of study. For those needing to purchase or rent an instrument just let us know and we can help.

Tuition Policy

 

THE FORT WORTH CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC AND FINE ARTS OPERATES ON A SEMESTER SYSTEM AS FOLLOWS:

 
 
  • FALL SEMESTER 15 weeks Payment due Sept 1/Oct 1/Nov 1/Dec 1

  • WINTER MINI-TERM 3 weeks Payment due Jan 1

  • SPRING SEMESTER 15 weeks Payment due Feb 1/March 1/April 1/May 1

  • SUMMER FLEX SEMESTER 10 weeks Payment due June 1/July 1/Aug 1*

*Summer enrollment is required to secure a fall registration place.

 

 

A NON-REFUNDABLE ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE OF $30 PER STUDENT IS ASSESSED AT ENROLLMENT WHICH IS REQUIRED TO GUARANTEE A PLACE IN A CLASS AND STUDIO.

 
 

Tuition is due on the first day of each month.* A $30 late fee is assessed after the 7th day. Once your online registration is complete you will receive an email with invoice instructions dividing the semester tuition into monthly installments.

 
 

*Full semester tuition is due regardless of discontinuation of lessons mid-semester.

 

 

THE CONSERVATORY ACCEPTS TWO FORMS OF PAYMENT THROUGH THE SECURE PARENT PORTAL IN MY MUSIC STAFF:*

· Credit – monthly auto pay through Stripe

Attendance Policy


PRIVATE LESSONS MISSED ARE NOT REFUNDABLE AND STUDENTS ARE NOT GUARANTEED A MAKE UP LESSON. At their discretion teachers may offer a make-up lesson in cases of illness (one-hour notice required), scheduled school trips (one-week notice), and inclement weather during regularly-scheduled make-up weeks each semester (see calendar). Students arriving late will not have their lesson time extended. In the event that a teacher must be absent, the teacher will reschedule the lesson.


GROUP CLASSES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED OR MADE UP. Assignments for group classes will be posted online on the secure parent portal and the student is expected to prepare for the following class.

Other Policies


EXPECTATIONS

Students should arrive at least 5 minutes before their scheduled lesson time and bring all music books, assignments, and materials necessary to be prepared for each lesson. It is expected that music students put in the necessary practice time at home to ensure success. Lessons may be shortened at the teacher’s discretion should students arrive unprepared or without appropriate materials.


RELEASE

By registering for lessons and classes the student/parents agree that any photographs, audio, or videos of students taken at Conservatory events may be used in Conservatory publications and media.


PARENT DROP OFF AND PICKUP

To ensure the safety of students, parents are required to park in the private back parking lot and walk their students into the Conservatory waiting room where their teacher will meet them at the appointed lesson time. It is the responsibility of the parent to promptly pick up the student in the waiting room following the lesson.
