Colombian cellist Edna Rincon began her musical journey by completing her undergraduate studies with Johanna Calderon at Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga in Santander, Colombia. During her time in Colombia, Edna was a member of the Filarmonica Juvenil de Cámara from the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra from 2017 to 2021. This orchestra was under the artistic and musical direction of Leonardo Federico Hoyos, a renowned violinist, pedagogue, and conductor. During this time, she had the opportunity to perform alongside young talented musicians, also from Colombia, and renowned conductors and soloists such as Andres Orozco Estrada, violinist and conductor Julian Rachlin, Josep Caballé-Domenech, award-winning cellist Alexander Buzlov, composer and conductor Krzysztof Penderecki, among others. She also had the honor of performing with the National Symphony of Colombia on several occasions.
In 2016, Edna participated in the Santa Catarina Music Festival in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil, in which she had the opportunity to play in masterclasses for great cellists such as Claudio Jaffé and Eduardo Vasallo. Additionally, she had the privilege of participating in the prestigious Cartagena International Music Festival in both 2017 and 2020.
Currently, Edna is pursuing her studies with Dr. Juliette Herlin in the Artist Diploma Program at Texas Christian University.
