As an active solo and collaborative pianist, Keji unleashes tremendous passion and color in her performances. She also dedicated herself to the piano, music theory, and music education, currently serving as Adjunct Professor for Piano and Music Theory at Texas Wesleyan University, Tarrant County College, Fort Worth Conservatory of Music, and her private MarKeji studio.
Keji has given hundreds of concerts and recitals with various vocal and instrumental soloists and ensemble groups. She currently serves as a staff pianist for Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, gave numerous concerts in cities throughout the United States. She has collaborated with the Adkins Quartet, Fort Worth Opera Artists, her violinist husband Mark Sanchez, and many others. Keji served as the pianist/harpsichordist for UTA school of music, Fort Worth Youth Orchestra, Southwestern Master Chorale, Southwestern Singers, Fort Worth Civic Orchestra, SWBTS Chapel Orchestra, UIL competitions, New York International Music Competition, and China Children’s Choir.
Keji received the Wayne (Polly) McNeely Piano Award. Keji and her husband Mark Sanchez were asked by special invitation to give their recital as guests at the Fort Worth Music Teachers Forum, Annual Texas Wesleyan University Stephen Barr Memorial Concert, and numerous church concerts. She has also performed as a pianist with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra at Southwestern Seminary’s 13th annual Gala concert, which celebrates the school as distinction as ‘All-Steinway School’. She has served as a church pianist weekly from her youth until today, she currently serves as a staff pianist at Ash Creek Baptist Church in Azle, TX. Keji released her piano and violin album ‘Harmony of Grace’ with her husband Mark in 2015.
As a teacher, Keji has been very active as a piano instructor, judicator, and has also taught applied piano lessons and music theory at the collegiate level. Many of her piano students are the winners of the Fort Worth Piano Solo Competition, Texas Wesleyan Duo-Piano Competition, Mid Cites Piano Festival, recipients of RCM Center Certificates of Excellence, and gold medalists of Texas State Theory Exams.
Keji is completing her dissertation for the Doctoral of Musical Arts, Piano Performance and Church Music degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where she also received her second Master of Music degree. Keji earned her first Master of Music degree in Music Theory from Mannes College the New School University (NYC), Bachelor of Music degree from China Conservatory in Beijing, China. She studied with Dr. Robert Smith, Dr. Jill Sprenger, Marilyn Groves, and Dr. Cristina Stanescu.
She is a member of MTNA, FWMTA, and MCMTA. She is treasurer of FWMTA and board member.
